3/5/11 Patterson Cup The Patterson Cup team has moved into top equal spot on the table with Weedons. After the latest round results at Lincoln, where Charteris Bay picked up it’s second win on the back of the draw we had at Burnham, we moved to 5 points. There is only one round remaining, Hororata 15th May, and a win will see us through to the semi finals. It is shaping up to be a very tight group with two other teams only 1 point back. Good luck to the team for the final round and making the finals. |

18/4/11 Patterson Cup The Patterson Cup team had it’s first win of the season. Building on the half that was had at Burnham the team won against Weedons at Akaroa on Sunday the 17th April. The win lifts us within a win from the top of the table.
Next game is Sunday 1st May at Lincoln. Good luck to the team on chasing that semi final place. |

6/4/11 Earthquake It is hard to know where to start, but here goes: Things have been a lot different since 4th September 2010. We all survived that and came out the other side worse off in many ways but after all we did come through it. What we lost was fixable, replaceable and temporary. Hard work and a lot of support later we were back on track; Feb 22nd 2011, that was a different story for so many. What was cracked is now broken, what was broken is destroyed. Most of us are still here and again we work together to rebuild our lives, homes and families. For far too many that will be much harder. To those people we at Charteris Bay Golf Club offer our support and friendship. We can still offer you golf, and all the good things that come with that. We look forward to seeing you at the clubhouse and around the course during the coming months |

Things are back on track now and the website will again reflect the times; that is being up to date.
We will compile results for the coming season and again you will be able to track progress as the year goes on.
Be sure to visit again soon and see what is happening and what is happening around the club. If you have any news for the site don’t hesitate to contact us or send it to newsletter@charterisbay.co.nz |

6/4/11 Sponsored Tournament It is obvious of course, but this years sponsored tournament for cancelled. Due to the earthquake of Feb 22nd it was decided that holding a golf tournament amid such hardship to so many of our loyal supporters just didn’t seem right. The tournament is a very big part of our years fund raising and we appreciate the support that so many give us. At this time we hope that those who have supported us have come through this time with a positive future outlook. We will reschedule the tournament for a later date and will look forward to seeing our supporters back in business and strong. We wish you all the best over the coming months |

6/4/11 The Ones Who We Lost In my years at Charteris Bay I don’t recall seeing the flag flying at half mast so often. We have lost many members over the past year, I want name them as I would hate to miss one out. Let me simply say that they will be missed, but not forgotten. I personally enjoyed so much of their company and appreciate their great contribution to the club that we all still have through these ever changing times.
Our condolences to their families and friends. |

.6/4/11 Twilight Final The final night of Twilight Golf for the 2010-11 season was on the 2nd of March. The 22nd Feb earthquake caused a lot of disruption and with all the focus of managing through that time it was a lot more sedate than what would otherwise of been a big night. We had a smaller than usual crowd but it was a welcome distraction from the earthquakes. Thanks to all those who played over the season. Also a big thank you to Wattie for his ongoing bar management, to Brian Herdman, Peter and Sam Brasell for there support with the BBQ and results. We look forward to 2011-12 twilight season and hope you can all play |
